Hostel Rules and Regulations
1. General Conduct:
- Respect and Discipline: Students are expected to maintain decorum, be respectful towards hostel staff, fellow residents, and visitors.
- Anti-Ragging Policy: Any form of ragging or bullying will not be tolerated and will result in strict disciplinary action..
- Room Privacy: Visitors, including other residents, are not permitted in a female resident’s room unless prior consent is given by the roommates. Only female visitors are allowed in the rooms during visiting hours.
- Female Visitors: Female residents are allowed to have visitors during visiting hours, which are typically from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. All visitors must sign in at the hostel gate and adhere to the rules and timings.
2. Accommodation and Room Allotment:
- Room Allocation: Rooms are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis or as per the hostel management’s discretion.
- Room Condition: Residents must maintain their rooms in a clean and tidy manner. Regular room inspections will be conducted.
- Personal Items: Hostel authorities are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings. Valuables should be stored in the lockers provided.
- Room Sharing: Roommates should respect each other’s privacy and personal space. Any issues related to room sharing should be reported to the rector and principal for resolution.
3. Cleanliness and Hygiene:
- Daily Cleaning: Residents are responsible for cleaning their own rooms and ensuring hygiene standards are maintained.
- Common Areas: Common areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, corridors, and lounges should be kept clean. Everyone should dispose of waste properly in the dustbins.
- Personal Hygiene: Residents must maintain personal hygiene. Bathing and toilet schedules should be followed to avoid overcrowding.
- Food Storage: Personal food items should be stored in designated areas only. Cooking in rooms is strictly prohibited.
4. Hostel Timings:
- Check-in and Check-out Time: Students must adhere to the fixed check-in and check-out times. Any deviations should be reported to the hostel authorities in advance.
- Curfew Hours: A strict curfew time will be enforced for residents. Entry after the designated time will require special permission from the hostel management.
- Late-Night Entry: Students returning late must report to the hostel office and submit a reason for the delay.
5. Security:
- ID Cards: Students must always carry their hostel ID cards and present them upon request by the security personnel.
- Locking Rooms: Residents should lock their rooms when leaving, and it is recommended not to share room keys with others.
- Security Personnel: Residents should cooperate with security staff and follow the security protocols for the safety of everyone in the hostel.
6. Prohibited Items:
- Alcohol, Drugs, and Smoking: Consumption of alcohol, smoking, and drug use is strictly prohibited inside the hostel premises.
- Electric Appliances: The use of personal electrical appliances such as heaters, kettles, or irons in rooms is not allowed without prior permission. The hostel may provide common areas for such facilities.
- Weapons and Harmful Items: Possession of any weapon, sharp object, or material that could harm others is prohibited.
- Noise and Disturbances: Loud music, noise, or disruptive activities in the hostel are not allowed, especially during quiet hours.
7. Food and Dining:
- Meal Timings: All residents must follow the scheduled meal timings. Delays in meal timings or disruptions to food service should be reported to the hostel rector or supervisior.
- Food Sharing: Sharing of food items across rooms is not allowed, as it may create hygiene issues.
- Mess Facilities: Any complaints regarding food quality or cleanliness should be addressed to the mess committee or hostel authorities.
- Outside Food: Bringing outside food into the hostel is generally prohibited unless authorized for special occasions or medical reasons.
8. Discipline and Punishments:
- Code of Conduct: Any behavior that violates the rules of the hostel will lead to appropriate disciplinary action, which may include fines, warnings, or expulsion from the hostel.
- Fines: Fines will be imposed for damage to hostel property, breaking hostel rules, or not maintaining discipline.
- Warning System: Students may receive a warning for minor violations. Multiple warnings can lead to suspension or expulsion from the hostel.
- Expulsion: Repeated violation of hostel rules or serious misconduct may result in immediate expulsion from the hostel without any refund.
9. Communication and Feedback:
- Hostel Feedback: Residents are encouraged to provide constructive feedback about the hostel services and facilities to improve the living conditions.
- Notice Board: Important announcements and updates are displayed on the hostel notice board. Students are expected to check the board regularly.
- Grievance Redressal: Any grievances or complaints regarding hostel facilities should be submitted to the hostel management for resolution.
10. Miscellaneous:
- Celebrations: Festival celebrations and other cultural events can take place in the hostel, but they must be conducted in a safe and respectful manner.
- Pets: No pets are allowed in the hostel premises.
- Health and Medical Assistance: In case of illness or medical emergencies, the hostel staff should be informed immediately. Hostel authorities will assist with first-aid or transportation to the hospital if required.
- Use of Hostel Facilities: Residents must use hostel facilities, such as the gym, library, or recreational areas, with care and follow any specific rules for those areas.
11. Prohibited Items and Activities:

- Weapons or Dangerous Items: Any possession of weapons, dangerous tools, or sharp objects (other than those for personal use) in the hostel is strictly forbidden.
- Noise and Disturbance: Loud music, shouting, or any other forms of noise disturbance are prohibited in the hostel. Quiet hours are to be respected at all times.
